Whai Wāhitanga/Youth Voice and Participation Training

Training for Leaders in Listening to Youth Voices:
This interactive training reimagines civic leadership in which children and young people are seen as active participants. We explore how we might build child and youth friendly cities. Training for Young People in Amplifying Your Voice
In this interactive training we help rangatahi to connect your passions and your voice, and make the connections with leaders and real world civic processes. We help you navigate civic processes and develop critical thinking skills. This training has been developed for groups of young people and would also be appropriate in schools.

Youth Voice Practice & Approaches
This training program is designed to equip practitioners with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement youth voice approaches effectively. Participants will learn about inclusive decision-making processes, communication strategies, and methods to strengthen young participation in communities.

Leveraging Youth Citizenship for Positive Youth Development Outcomes
This accelerator works with youth organisations to embed youth citizenship activities in your programmes to increase positive youth development outcomes and reimagine a world where children and young people thrive and their POV are valued. It includes:

Getting the Most from Supervision | Kaitiakitanga
In this interactive 2 hour training we review the purpose of supervision and explore how you might create a bespoke supervision experience that works with your unique worldview, practice POV and personality. We explore the diversity of support supervision can offer you. You’ll walk away resourced with ensuring your future supervision sessions are impactful and work for you. This training is designed for youth workers and those working with young people, and is useful for anyone within the helping professions. Ethical Practice: Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa
In this practical and fun workshop we explore ethical approaches to working with young people. This workshop takes you on a journey from exploring social expectations to exploring the nuances and tensions we encounter in our daily work with young people. We talk about ethical practice in a way that enhances the mana of young people and the youth work profession. our mana. We leave you with practical tools to build on your ethical practice as individual youth workers, and in organisations and communities. We cover practical issues and can tailor the workshop to suit your youth work context.

Positive Youth Development Approaches
This interactive workshop takes you through the principles of positive youth development practice. We look at youth development within Aotearoa and explore incorporating evidence-based practice into your daily engagement with young people.
