InCommon Projects helps organisations and people working with young people deliver better outcomes for young people. Our experience covers a broad range of youth development programme design, education, research and supervision. Supporting, hearing and understanding young people’s voices and experiences is at the core of our work.

Sarah Finlay-Robinson, Director

Sarah has 20 years experience working in the fields of child and youth development, local government, community development, health promotion and tertiary education. Her experience covers strategy development, programme design and delivery, youth participation, youth transitions, governance, consultation, and research.

Sarah has worked with several local governments and a number of youth organisations to review, plan, and improve their youth participation strategies and practice. She has worked for a number of tertiary education providers teaching youth development, designing curriculums, assessing qualifications and supporting students. Sarah provides training and supervision to youth workers, and is an active member of Korowai Tupu, the professional body for Youth Work in Aotearoa. Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts, a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies and a Masters in Health Science.

Sarah’s unique skill set bridges academic investigation, strategy and
practice. She is able to comprehend complex systems and decision-making
processes, while holding people and their voices at the centre in order to craft a story of the impact and change being made.

Hannah Dunlop, Consultant

Hannah has 17 years’ experience working in the fields of youth development, local government, program design, strategy, health promotion, policy, environmental sustainability, education, consultation, governance, youth participation and evaluation.

Hannah has worked as a youth worker, facilitator, people leader and researcher as both a contractor and employee for organisations like Waimakariri District Council, NZ Red Cross, Environment Canterbury, 24-7 YouthWork and Ara Taiohi. Hannah has a Bachelor of Arts and Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health. Hannah has held a number of governance roles with local, national and global YMCA and 9 years on the Canterbury Youth Workers Collective board. Currently Hannah works with Rerenga Awa – Canterbury Youth Workers Collective as project manager for the Youth Friendly Places and Spaces tools.

Hannah’s unique skill set and experience provides insights and knowledge around the intersection of organisational structure, best practice youth development and participation and effective program design.
